My name is George Baumann from Franklin N.C. and I have owned many special interest and classic cars over the period of fifty years. The majority of these automobiles were original, low mileage and close to AACA number two vehicles. A few years ago I had the privilege to meet Don Mills a licensed appraiser from Liberty, N.C. He was at a friend's house evaluating an early Ford for a prospective customer. He gave one of the most thorough inspections, photos, and description of the vehicle that I have ever seen. Don Mills was recommended to me evaluate a supposedly frame off restored, unmolested, low mileage, investment grade 1970 Buick GS 455 convertible I found on eBay at a classic car dealer with a large facility and supposedly good reputation . It looked beautiful in their pictures, but they were vague about details, which made me more willing to invest a few hundred dollars to avoid investing in a car priced at several thousand that might be worth less than the price. Don seemed very honest & knowledgable & his evaluation was spot on. After seeing the highly detailed & accurate report he provided I could see the car was not only not what it looked like & described as in the ad, it was in very poor condition . If I had purchased this vehicle I never could have come close to recovering a small fraction of the price. I figure Don saved me tens of thousands of dollars. I have other collectible cars, & every one was evaluated by a professional before purchase, but I think Don was the most thorough of them all. I would recommend him highly. He really knows his stuff!
